Galaxy of Fire, 2nd Edition, by Jay L. Latham

Jekyll & Highsmith Publishers are pleased to announce the release of the 2nd Edition of Galaxy of Fire: Journey to an Ancient Spiritual World, published for the Amazon Kindle(R) device and mobile app platform. A native release for the Apple iOS platform for iBooks will be available in 2015.

There has been great interest in seeing Jay's book come back into print. Working with Jay's family, and aided by the author's extensive notes, we have lovingly crafted a second edition of Jay's autobiographical story of his time in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict and the years following when he was a Governor in the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation (TM) program.

The author, meditating in Delhi, 1985, after completing of his first pilgrimage to the
source of the Ganges, starting at Gangroti (10,200 ft), then to Gaumukh (12,000ft),
and then up to Tapovan (14,776ft).

Jay's story is an "everyman" story, with a bigger-than-life twist, where he writes about his search for the true meaning of life. His life pilgrimage detailed in the pages of Galaxy of Fire takes him, first, into the Vietnam conflict in Southeast Asia in the late 1960s, followed by his study of Vedic knowledge as part of Maharishi's TM program during the 1970s in the US, Switzerland and India, and culminating with his first of many pilgrimages to the holy Panch Kedar sites dedicated to Shiva in Nepal and in India's Uttarkashi region in 1985.

Author, on peak Kala Patar (19,000ft), a spur off Pumori Mt. (24,000ft). Khumbu Glacier is located behind the author, with Mt. Everest, Western Cwm ("coom") at far left.

This is a 2nd Edition of Jay's wonderful book, not simply a reprint. There were many things about the 1st Edition that Jay had planned to improve and refine before its first run publication in 2000, but he was unable to finish before he "dropped his body" and left this world.  A long time in coming, the 2nd Edition is available now.  Look for it on Amazon, and (in 2015) Apple's iBooks stores.
